ACE is an anti corrosion, high build single coat enamel for shipping and storage containers, waste disposal bins, plant and equipment and formwork. It is ideally applied by airless spray in one coat at a wet film thickness of 200 microns and will not sag or run. Ace has excellent opacity and covering power even with colours such as reds and yellows. 

Surface Preparation                                                                                                           
Surfaces to be coated must be clean, dry and free from any material that might affect adhesion, remove loose flaking or friable material. Apply in dry conditions where humidity is at normal levels.
Cold damp conditions will impair drying times and the final finish. The temperature of the substrate should be minimum 0°C and at least 3°C above the dew point of the air.
The product should not be applied at temperatures below 0°C where there is a possibility of ice formation on the substrate. The temperature of paint itself should be above + 15°C for proper application.
Good ventilation is required in confined areas during application and drying.
Repair any damage to the metal surface. Fill holes in joints and welding where rust may develop with Rustoleum Elastofill Flexible Joint Filler.
Thoroughly degrease bare metalwork or previously painted and primed surfaces with HSP ND14 Cleaner Degreaser to remove dirt, grease and salts.
Structural Steel Surfaces: For optimum results blast clean to grade Sa2½. (ISO 8501-1) If blast cleaning is not possible, manual rust removal and the application of etching, chromate or zinc phosphate primers are recommended to ensure adhesion and long term corrosion resistance. 

                                                     
General Advice and Good Practice                    
Mild Steel - Degrease and either manually abrade or shot blast to Sa2½  before application of the primer coat.                                                                                                        
Phosphate Steel - Degrease and either manually abrade or shot blast to Sa2½ before application of the primer coat                                                                                                        
New Galvanised Steel - Degrease and treat with Galvanising Wash 84/1 before application of the primer coat.                                                                                                        
Old Galvanised Steel - Degrease and abrade or apply Rust-Oleum Surfa Etch Solution 108 to remove surface salts.                                      
Aluminium - Degrease and apply one coat of Etch Primer (chromate and chromate free formulations are available) before application of the primer coat.
Stainless Steel - Degrease and abrade if possible before application of one coat of Etch Primer before application of the primer coat.
